Baltic Quarter

A place for immersive technology

Baltic Quarter is home to a thriving tech community, Gateshead College and the Council owned District Energy Centre & Net Zero Network.

The last five years has seen continued investment in buildings and critical infrastructure including PROTO (Europe’s first dedicated centre for emerging technology), Riga (Grade A offices), a new tree-lined boulevard linking the Quays to the road network, and a 1,000 space MSCP.

Baltic Quarter is located immediately south of Gateshead Quays with the majority of the land owned by the Council. A new masterplan will guide future development of the site with capacity for c1,000 new homes, c450,000 sq ft commercial accommodation, hotels and ancillary uses.

Baltic Quarter presents a fantastic opportunity to continue the growth of a vibrant urban quarter within NewcastleGateshead city centre. Plots are available now for development, and the Council are looking for development and investment partners.
